Memory Verses

Cayden started AWANA Cubbies a few weeks ago and he's been doing so great! At first he was sad when we left, one night he said, "my heart was sad for a little bit." Then after about the 3rd week he said, "my heart was happy the whole time!" It was so hard to leave him when he was sad, but he always did well and I knew he needed to be able to do something without me. He memorizes verses so well. He retains the info too. We've written the verses on paper and taped them to our kitchen wall so that I can remember what they are to make sure he's doing it right-and he does! :) This video was after the 2nd week. Cubbies don't require the kids to memorize the reference, but I wanted Cayden to know where the verses are in the Bible so he's been memorizing them too.

I realized that the last verse was too short for him, once I told him to memorize the whole verse, he got it right away! Weird huh? So now, instead of "All have sinned" he says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Great job Cayden! I didn't have Noah do Cubbies this year because I didn't think he would be able to memorize the verses yet, but he has proved me wrong. We work on Madison's Spark's verses everyday in school, and he has been memorizing those verses with no problem! It has really amazed me. I think he may be ready for Cubbies after all.
