Karis Jo

Karis got a new outfit from Uncle Cody and Auntie Kellie and although I wouldn't have chosen it off the rack myself, she is super cute in it! Well, maybe not with the vest just yet:) Good thing she's got so many aunts to help her with her style :)
The vest is a little big:)

If I was picking the outfit I would have stopped at the above picture...

but the skirt sure does add some "pizazz" doesn't it? :)
I just had to quick post these b/c I thought she was so cute. I have sooo many posts that need to be done, but they'll have to wait for another time! Isn't she cute?!

Girlfriend

I overheard Cayden talking about a girlfriend with his toys and so my ears perked up and I heard him say, "oh who's your girlfriend?, oh it's Miss Hamlin" (she's his sunday school teacher)

So at lunch I asked him what a girlfriend was and he said, "oh, like Madison, you know, she's a girl and she's my friend!"

Boxers/Boxing

My dad was watching boxing over at our house one night and then I got a free pair of "overnights boxers" so this is what happened when we mixed the two:)

The Lord's Army

Laughter is Good Medicine

Karis loves her brother! Everytime Cayden laughed, it would make Karis laugh:)

Gingerbread House

C-A-Y-D-E-N

For my dad's birthday in November, Cayden made him a card and wanted to sign his own name. I said, "ok" and was going to put my hand over his and help him write and he said, "no, I want to do it myself" and he did! I didn't realize he could. He did it again today so I decided to take a picture. He went and got the pen and just wrote his name on the paper while I sat on the couch and watched-Good Job Cayden! (Thanks iPad) :) I told him his "y" kind of looked like an "x" and he said, "but that's ok."

Aren't We Cute?

Uncle cody and Aunt Kellie sent us some Christmas presents and when I came into the living room Cayden had crawled into the box and shut it! I couldn't believe he fit, he's such a character. Also, yesterday he put his "Cars" chair on top of my bed and was sitting on it!

Is It Christmas Yet? Can I Open The Presents Now?...

My answer to all the Christmas related questions is as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Cut

2. Glue

3. Attach

Tadaa!

Now the only question I get is, "Can I take another one off now?"
Oh well, I guess we are just at the age of questions, at least until he has a concept of time! :)

Unique Discipline

Note the mattress on the floor to the left and comfy plywood he's napping on.
Cayden keeps jumping on his bed and a few weeks ago he fell and bit his lip pretty bad. I've told him before that if he jumps on his bed I'll take his mattress away. Well, my mom was here when I did that and he cried and cried and she (being the softy grandma that she is-and note she was not that soft as a mom! :) ) convinced me he wouldn't do it again and he should have his bed back. Well, he jumped again and my mom wasn't here to save him (although he did say, "mommy, call grandma Pam" I knew why he wanted to and said, "no" which resulted in even more tears) so I took away his mattress for nap time. At first I thought he was never going to go to sleep b/c it was too uncomfortable, but he did fall asleep. I hope he learns his lesson b/c I sure feel bad for him!! (I just get tired of spanking for the same reason over and over. I thought maybe this would "hit home" a little better for him. )

Lyndi's Ramblings

So during my Beth Moore Bible Study she said something that really made me think. She said that Satan can't read our thoughts, only our actions. That made me wonder how that's possible because doesn't all sin start from a thought? Anyway... I'm worried about saying things out loud b/c when I posted about Karis' fussiness, I said, "but at least she sleeps great at night" and then that night she didn't sleep great. So I want to say something about her fussiness, but I'm afraid if I do I will Jinx it, so you'll just have to figure out what I would say if I wasn't afraid of saying it:)

Christmas Here We Come

Cayden was so excited to decorate the tree for Christmas. Here are a few shots. Towards the end he was getting ready for bed and didn't get his pj's on before I found the angel, so he put the angel on pantless. I seem to recall some friends of ours decorating their tree in swimsuits or something, but I looked and looked and couldn't find those pics. :)

Memory Verses

Cayden started AWANA Cubbies a few weeks ago and he's been doing so great! At first he was sad when we left, one night he said, "my heart was sad for a little bit." Then after about the 3rd week he said, "my heart was happy the whole time!" It was so hard to leave him when he was sad, but he always did well and I knew he needed to be able to do something without me. He memorizes verses so well. He retains the info too. We've written the verses on paper and taped them to our kitchen wall so that I can remember what they are to make sure he's doing it right-and he does! :) This video was after the 2nd week. Cubbies don't require the kids to memorize the reference, but I wanted Cayden to know where the verses are in the Bible so he's been memorizing them too.

I realized that the last verse was too short for him, once I told him to memorize the whole verse, he got it right away! Weird huh? So now, instead of "All have sinned" he says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Happy Thanksgiving 2010

The shirt says it all!

Aren't they cute?!

Flash back 3 years and see the first time this outfit was worn:

Gymnastics

For $5 Cayden can go for 2 1/2 hours and play at our local gymnastics building. He loves it!

After he worked up an appetite, we went to eat and his first slurp of spaghetti created this face:)

Fun With Friends

Cayden and Levi made Candy Turkeys

Elianna, Cayden and Elijah

Yee Haw!

Fall Fun

Cayden dressed as Joseph for Cubbies

Just being goofy at the dinner table!

Cayden October

Cayden is such a GREAT brother!! He wants to help Karis however he can, he's always running and getting diapers, her pacifer or singing her a song.

Cayden got to spend the morning at the fire station with his new (Elianna and Elijah) and "old" (Noah and Madison) friends

Karis October

Karis and friend Isaac, born October 27th

Karis looks like this quite often during her naps, if she's wearing a hairbow, I think she rubs her head back and forth before she falls asleep and it falls down:)

Questions About Life/Thanksgiving Parade

Scene: A few days ago, I'm leaning back on my bed with Karis on my stomach, Cayden is sitting next to me.

Cayden: I don't know how Karis got out of there.
Me: Out of my belly?
Cayden: Yes, I think it was magic.
Me: No, it wasn't magic.
Cayden: Did the doctor have a wand?
Me: No, he used his hands and took her out.
Cayden: Out of the hole?
Me: Mmm yeah (where'd he hear about a hole?)
Cayden: I don't know where the hole is.
Me: ... (what in the world do I say now?!)

in the meantime.
..
Cayden: (in a more exasperated voice) I don't even know how she got in there. How did Karis get in your belly?
Me: ... (oh my word, what in the world do I say?) Ask your daddy.

he calls Brandon at work...
Cayden: Daddy how did Karis get in mommy's belly.
Daddy: She swam.
End of discussion, that satisfied Cayden...but for how long?!

I was in the bathroom getting ready and Cayden wanted to watch the thanksgiving parade and I said he could, he just had to ask Brandon to turn the T.V. on for him. Cayden came running back into the bathroom and said, "Mommy, Daddy got up without hesitation and turned it on for me!"

Blogging with 2

Sorry for the many days away. I did try and blog 2x before, but everytime I hit, "publish post" nothing happened. Finally, Brandon and I had 2 minutes together and I remembered to ask him about it. Being the computer genius that he is, he fixed it and I can blog again!

Finding time to blog has not been that easy. I'm trying to make sure I do my devotions each morning, get the kids fed, bathed, clothed, get myself fed, bathed, clothed, and I've been trying to do some fun activity/project with Cayden and keep the house clean. Somehow, it doesn't sound like a lot when I type it out, but it really takes all day! Then Brandon gets home and it starts Karis' fussy time. She gets fussy for 2 hours every night and it is so frustrating! I am so so thankful it's in the evening so Brandon can at least play with Cayden and I don't have to worry about anything else, and I'm so thankful it's not during the middle of the night when I'm exhausted, but it is frustrating that it has to happen at all. However, she only wake up once or twice in the middle of the night and it only takes about 30 min each time. Cayden was eating every 2 hours 24hrs a day and it took an hour each time because he'd poop and need to burp. I honestly don't know what was worse, Karis' fussy time or Cayden eating all the time. I really like that I get sleep now, but I'm not used to having a baby cry just to cry, because Cayden never did that. I'm counting on, "this to shall pass..."

Karis' 3 Month Pics

Karis had her 3 month pictures on Sunday the 7th. I was all prepared with her fed, burped, changed etc. She was so happy and smiley, but the picture place ran 10 minutes late!! We got a few cute pics of her in the pink and then she wanted to sleep. So we changed her into the purple outfit, hoping she'd wake up, but she just wanted her nuk and blanky. Aww the joys of picture day, such a stressful time! (I don't know why the last picture showed up so much bigger)(She is still wearing NB clothes, 0-3months are still too big. She's wearing 0-3 Month sleepers b/c she's too long for her NB sleepers, but she can't fit outfits yet b/c she's still too small:) )
