Caught Up!

Finally I feel caught up on posts!! A few other things to remember:

Cayden found some old food under his booster chair this morning and wanted to know if it was chair jam. I said, "chair jam?" and he said, "Yes, like toe jam, chair jam."

I laid down with him yesterday and completely out of the blue, he wanted to know how the baby got out of my belly-oh boy!

A few nights ago Cayden had his first test of homesickness and at 10:30pm I had to go pick him up because, "his belly told him he wanted to come home." Thankfully he slept over at my parent's house a couple of nights later with no problems.

Happy Belated Father's Day

Cayden decorated the wrapping paper and made a picture frame for Brandon at the park and was proudly reading each letter that was stuck onto the back. :)

Cayden's Friend Party

Birthday Boy!

Elianna, Elijah and Liam with Cayden

Karis, Derrian, Levi and Oliver

Derrian was the big winner of the stack the Big Mac box game

Cayden did really well too. :)

Derrian would have won the drop the coin in the cup game too, but I shook him a little on his last coin, b/c he was just too good:)

In June, I finally got around to having a small friend birthday party for Cayden. (I was just not that into it with everything that had happened with my dad.) However, I knew Cayden would really enjoy it, so I planned a pool party at my mom and dad's. It of course was cold and rainy and so I had to make a quick change of plans-Mcdonalds it was. It was actually very easy doing it there and I wouldn't mind doing it again. The party pack included a goody bag for each kid, a happy meal, cake, ice cream, and a worker that helped out and led the kids in a few age appropriate games. It was nice and easy for me! :)

Annual PBTV Fish Fry

Every year, in May, Brandon's work puts on an annual fish fry. We love going for the great food, fun and friends we get to visit with. This was Cayden's 4th year already! (He was 1 week old at his first fish fry) This year he got to meet Buddy the Dinosaur and Sid the Science Kid.

Sheila

Cayden and his pet monkey, Sheila.

Cayden loves his new friend. (Personally, I love the voice, compliments of daddy)

There were 2 other videos I really wanted to post, but they are too big. One is of when he first met Sheila, he liked her but was a little scared. The other was of her climbing up on his lap and he read her one of his Cars books. (Thanks April and Karl)

Hi Ho Cherry-O

Cayden had played this game at Madison and Noah's one day and really enjoyed it. I had never played it or even heard of it before. They gave it to him for his birthday and we've had a lot of family fun playing it. It's easy enough that Cayden can do it without help and it's actually pretty fun. Thanks Madison, Noah and Family!

Thanks Auntie Shalina

Cayden loves his box of Cars books, and I have to say, I do too! There's about 5-6 pages per book with one sentence per page! :) His favorite book is "Tractor Tipping" and he has heard it so many times he can almost tell it back to us word for word.

Dart Gun

When Uncle Cody was visiting in March, he asked if Cayden had any guns. I said, "not yet, he's a little young still." I think Uncle Cody felt it was his job as uncle to change that at the first opportunity:

It took him about 2 minutes before he could cock it and everything by himself. At this point, I'm not sure who has used it more, Cayden or daddy:)

Cayden's Family Birthday Party

Smiling with all his presents

He really liked getting money. He gave some to Jesus, bought 3 puzzles and put the rest in his "money bank."

He got sunglasses and a fishing rod for Gma/Gpa Odegard

We got him this Smart Cycle. He really enjoys it. We'd bought it over a year ago when Walmart had a big sale and figured he was old enough to enjoy it now. He can race other cars or play where he has to move the handles to pick up letters/numbers, in order.

This is a super late post, I know, but I want it posted for my records in the future anyway. On the 22nd of May we celebrated Cayden's birthday with our parents and grandparents. We had supper and cake and ice cream and Cayden opened presents. I just wasn't up to a big party because we'd only been home from Fargo for a week. On Sunday, Cayden's actual birthday, I forgot to give him a piece of cake so he was telling everyone he never got cake for his birthday (even though he'd had some the day before when we celebrated!)

GMAS

Great Minnesota Air Show-St Cloud:

Cayden's first "School Bus" Ride was the shuttle from the parking field to the St. Cloud airport. We haven't decided if we will homeschool or send him to school, but either way watching him walk up the bus steps hit me with a wave of sadness for a minute. He's growing up and won't always be my buddy around the house!

Cayden got to sit in a Nighthawk/Blackhawk helicopter and play with the controls. It was the navy's version and I can't remember which one it was for sure.

He liked to wear his "ear muffs" as he called them, to help block out the noise.

He was such a good boy the whole day! No melt downs or anything. It was hot and long (but fun) but he's 3 years old and didn't have a nap. In fact, Thursday and Friday were both long days with no naps, Saturday he had an hour nap and then was up until 10pm swimming in the hotel pool and this was Sunday. As soon as he sat in the carseat he was fast asleep.

Wadena

On our way to the air show on Sunday we drove through Wadena. A tornado hit a week or two earlier and these are some of the after shots:

The tree to the right of the port-a-potty was ripped sideways from right under the tar and concrete shoulder

This stop sign was almost at a 90 degree angle and the one right before it was over 90 degrees bent.

The Wadena High School
It was like a doll house where you could see right into every room b/c the wall was just gone.
It was very interesting to see the exact path of where it hit. There would be one house totally demolished and then next door just a few issues or none at all.

Pregnancy Update

I'm just over 31 weeks and I've been comparing my journal of Cayden's pregnancy to this pregnancy and I've found some interesting tidbits-WARNING to male readers: female talk is necessary:)

At 29 weeks, with Cayden, my cervix had already started to get softer and thinner, at 31 weeks my cervix has started to change. ( It hadn't changed at 25 weeks)

I weigh exactly the same at 31 weeks, now, as I did with Cayden at 31 weeks.

I am bigger around my belly at 31 weeks than I was with Cayden at 32 weeks (by about 1 cm or so). I had a baby shower when I was 32 weeks and each lady had to guess how big around I was. I kept the piece of ribbon that was my actual size and it's too small to go completely around me at 31 1/2 weeks this time.

Today, at my appointment, the Dr said the baby is very low. I said, "I KNOW, I've been saying that the entire pregnancy! (I was also told that with Cayden.)

So I believe I will be early with this baby, but we'll have to see how I continue to progress :)

At 33 weeks I was in the hospital for preterm labor, but I think that's because I had got a sunburn, I'll do my best to NOT sunburn this time:)

Full Shot 31 weeks

Kristin, here's a full shot of me so you can see if I'm gaining weight or retaining water:)

Cayden had to take a picture with his belly too, he was almost 160 weeks in this picture. :)

Proverbs 22:6

Cayden's first memory verse: 1 Peter 5:7. We practiced it on the way to church last week and he was having trouble with the verse so I never taught him the reference, figuring we could work on that later. After church I asked Cayden if he told his verse to his teacher and he said, "no." We have not talked about it since. Today, Friday, he was eating breakfast and completely out of the blue he says, "1 Peter 5:7." I asked him where he heard that and he said, his teacher. So I guess they did work on their verses and now he knows his verse and the reference. :)

Comparison pic

30 weeks with baby #2

35 weeks with Cayden
I found this picture on my computer, so I figured I could give you an idea of my first pregnancy. I still want to find my 30 week pic with Cayden. I was fuller around towards the end, so I kind of think that will happen this time too. This was 2 weeks before he was born. I took pics every 4 weeks at least with Cayden and the picture on the top is the 2nd pic we've taken my whole pregnancy, oops:) It's amazing how your thoughts/emotions/actions change when it's not your first.

Belly Pics

30 weeks with baby #2.
There is no head in the pics b/c I was actually in bed again, super comfortable when I remembered my friend Kristin. Well, there was no going to sleep without posting the pics I said I would, so these are especialy for you Kristin:)
At some point I hope to blog Cayden's pregnancy vs this one, but I haven't even blogged his birthday yet, so we'll see how things go:)
