Adventures with Madison

Madison: I go swimming

Me: I don't have a swimming pool.

Madison: Yes you do.

Me: ok, but it's not put up.

Madison: Put it up.

Me: Ok, I'll see what it looks like. (I take it out of Cayden's closet, he got it for his birthday)

Me: It's too hard I'll have to blow it all up by my mouth.

Madison: That's ok.

Me: Ok. (5hrs and one dizzy spell later...ok maybe not 5 hours, but it did include blowing up a palm tree, 4 star fish, a dolphin, a whale and a rainbow. ) I turn the water on and there are waterspouts, pools and a slide-it looks very fun and I figure, my lack of oxygen was worth it. If I was a kid I'd really like this. She is going to have so much fun.

Happy Birthday Grandma Stacy!

From the day Cayden was born he adopted one of Brandon's co-workers as his Grandma. I tried getting Cayden to sit holding the sign he made, but that wasn't going to happen, but here's the picture Cayden made for his Grandma Stacy:

Today is her birthday and Cayden had something he wanted to tell her:

Cayden and Noelle...

Noelle is celebrating her first birthday and was kind enough to share her cake with Cayden. It was so fun to see Noelle again, it had been about 4 months since we'd last seen her and she has grown into quite a beautiful young lady. :) (She is one day shy of a month younger than Cayden) She has a lot of teeth and she is walking. We keep close tabs on her progress b/c she will be our daughter-in-law someday. Even though Cayden is neither walking nor getting any more teeth (still only 2), he does have hair. So we figure they are a great match-after all, it's all about complimenting each other right?!:)

Old High School

For those that might not have seen, here are some pics of the old Bemidji High School getting torn down. It's kind of sad. Not that I want to be back there, but it was a place that held a LOT of memories and when we have our High School Reunions, we won't be able to "waunder the halls" and bring back old memories. It's late, I'm obviously too tired and need to get to bed!

3rd, 4th, 5th? Cousins

My Mom's Name is Pam and she has a cousin named Rocky (sp?) Pam had Lyndi and Rocky had Tanya (Tanya's OLDER). Lyndi had Cayden and Tanya had Koi. How are Lyndi and Koi, Tanya and Cayden and Cayden and Koi related? Don't wait for the answer, it's a real question!

Koi was born June 12, 2008 (the day Cayden was due last year!) Cayden was 21lbs 7oz and 29 inches at his one year check up and Koi was born at 11lbs 5 oz and 23 inches! Over half of what Cayden is now! For my son's sake, I hope they get along:)

Crazy Kid

Cayden was way overly tired when we were on our way home from Mpls and we had stopped at Red Lobster. He was really enjoying the lemon as you will see, but it made him stranger then he was already being. He had us laughing through the whole dinner. Everyone was stopping to smile and talk to him. This is why people have children, they are great entertainment!

Father's Day 1 and 2

Gale gave Brandon and Cayden "matching" shirts for Brandon's first Father's day. Here they are proudly displaying them.
It was a 6 month outfit, so Cayden was a little small at less than a month old. :)

Here they are wearing them for Father's Day this year! Cayden, you've gotten so big! (But he is still wearing a 6 month outfit! :) )

Cayden and His Daddy

Hugging Daddy
Kissing Daddy
Telling Daddy a Story
Looking Exactly like Daddy!
Everyone says how much Cayden looks like Brandon and I just don't see it, but when I took this picture I saw it! I know Peggy has a picture of Brandon that is almost identical in looks. Honestly to the point where you wouldn't know it wasn't a baby picture of Brandon!

Cayden's Birthday

I made a Mickey Mouse cake, from scratch, for Cayden's Birthday and even decorated it. I was quite proud of the end result, but b/c I made it the night before the frosting hardened. (It wasn't in an air tight container) that was a bummer!
The ADORABLE Birthday Boy
During his 1st year pictures, we gave him a birthday cupcake. He LOVED the sweets!
Birthday Boy opening presents. He did a great job and opened and played with every gift and never got cranky. He's such a great kid!

Brandon took cuter/better pictures, but they are on his camera, so they'll probably never get blooged, sorry:) Also, I don't know how to get my pictures to rotate, any suggestions?

First Official Haircut

We took Cayden to Fantastic Sams (b/c I had a coupon) to get his first official haircut on May 14, 2008. I wanted him to look clean cut for his first year pictures on the 23rd:)

Before, cute little curls
During

and After. Curls are gone, but he's still sooo cute!

Walking

Time really does fly. It's been almost 4 months since I've blogged about Cayden. I know some of you are saying DUH, but wow, its flown by! Mother's Day weekend he took his first steps to Brandon then we caught him on video taking a few steps to Grandma Peggy. He has since taken a couple of steps to Grandma Pam and that's it. He's taking it S L O W. :)

Cute Kid

I know I don't blog often enough, but that doesn't mean I don't have the cutest kid in the WORLD! :)

Just being cute!

Homemaker/HomeBaker?

Ok, so I just made my first ever, from scratch, no bread machine, let it rise then punch it down and let it rise again bread:) It's delicious!! I know its the recipe and the great instruction I had while making it, but either way I made it and its good! YEAH!! I will most likely even do it again, even if it does take awhile. It's that good. So this is me patting myself on the back for making good bread:)
