Defiance already?

Sometime ago after I had kissed Cayden he wiped my kisses off. It became a bit of a joke for him that he would wipe off our kisses, so Brandon and I would kiss him on the back so he couldn't wipe it off and that would end "the game." He'd always say, in a sing-songy voice: "I wiped your kisses off..."

Well....

Today he was goofing around instead of taking his nap and I spanked him and he said, in a very defiant way: "I wiped your spank off."

Please, don't let it be starting already!!

What are you going to do with me?

I'm getting Cayden ready for breakfast this morning while I'm cleaning the kitchen and the following conversation takes place:

Cayden: I want applesauce in my oatmeal.
Mommy: We don't have anymore applesauce.
Cayden: I want oatmeal in my applesauce mommy.
Mommy: We don't hanve any applesauce.
Cayden: I want oatmeal in my applesauce mommy.
Mommy: I'll see what I can do.

(I get distracted with dishes)

Cayden: What are you going to do mommy, ...what are you going to do?
Mommy: What?
Cayden: What are you going to do with me mommy?

Talking

A week or two ago Cayden woke up and started talking (well that part is everyday). I was able to write down a little of what he said, (to himself),

"Mommy, do you hear me? I want some num nums, um ya, ok."
"What time is it? Oh 5, that's right"

(I've tried to video him talking b/c he has such inflection in his voice, but it never fails, he always knows and stops talking. I will even turn it on in the living room and stealthily (is that a word?) walk to the outside of his door, but he stops talking every time!)


Also, sometimes, when we ask a question, he will put his finger up by his chin and say, "um let me think. Think, Think, Think"

Nasty

A member of our family was using the bathroom and Cayden walked in and said, "That's nasty."
We had never heard him say, "nasty" before! :)
