So Many (Cayden) Things...

Our neighbors were having a garage sale and so there was a sign at the end of our road (near our yard) Cayden said, "I saw that sale sign and thought to my self, 'Ohhh Maaa-an, our house is for sale'" ( I wish there was a way I could express how he said that "Oh Man" b/c that was the funniest part)

Cayden stayed a few nights with my mom when my dad was out of town. It just happened that she'd have errands up until Cayden's bedtime, so she'd pick him up, he'd go to bed, then she'd drop him off again before work. He told her she didn't work like his daddy. When she asked why, he said, "because you go to work, come home, go to work, come home. Daddy goes to work, comes home, plays with me, goes to work, comes home, plays with me." I love that he sees his daddy this way. He sure has a wonderful daddy!

For Cayden's birthday we went to the science center. I realized I was going to need Brandon to stop by after he got done with work so I called and told him. I'm so glad he came because the next day this was Cayden's prayer, "...and thank you that my daddy could come to my birthday party." I never even thought that he'd think about that. He had so much fun with the exhibits and animals and all his friends. But I guess nothing compares to a daddy:)

Mom vs. Mommy

Quick, what are your first thoughts?.... My first thoughts are Mom will defiantly win in a fight of Mom vs. Mommy. Why? Because moms are older, tougher, they've been through it all and mommy's are soft and young and just beginning to go through it all. I want to be mommy, I want to be soft and young, but my son has decided that I now belong in the classification of "Mom." He didn't even ask my opinion, who gave him the right to decide what I"m called? Oh that's right, I guess he did make me a mom/mommy. I suppose if anyone has the right to change my name, it's him. But it makes him seem so grown up and me so OLD! I tried calling him Kade, if he called me Mom, but even that doesn't seem to fix the problem. I guess I'm as my friend Josh says, I'm "old and frumpy" now.

Cayden is reading now! I don't know if I blogged about that before, but in April he started. I have to post a video of that too.

Notes to self: I need to blog about his AWANA grand prix, our trip to Florida, his Birthday party (Science Center/Hotel), the PB fish fry,

He turned 4 on the 23rd and lately he's started calling me "Mom" you might think to yourself "big deal, that's what you are" but I'm not "Mom", I'm "mommy"

Too cute! I cannot believe how much of a "little man" Cayden is becoming! When I was talking to him the other day, it made me sad that he actually understood everything I was saying! lol We miss out on so much :( Love this blog.

As far as the Mom vs. Mommy. I personally feel that first, it has to do with the child and their personality. Second, it can have to do with where the child is at in their "growing up" phase. He may be feeling like he's a big tough guy and doesn't want to use the "baby" term Mommy. I still call my Mama, Mommy, a lot...depending on my mood lol So again, I feel that it's just a growing up thing, and/or his personality...I wouldn't be worried...deep down he knows you are and forever will be his Mommy :) I hope this all makes sense :)

Do you realize it's been 2 months since you last updated your blog, and 5 months since I've see an updated picture of your kids?! I just realized that Karis is almost 1, and I'm still envisioning her as a baby! :-)
