Conniving Cayden

Cayden and I were sitting down to read a book before his nap today. He brought two books, but I told him I was only going to read one. The following conversation took place:

Me: Which book do you want to read?
Cayden: Both of them?
Me: No, I said we're only going to read one. So which one do you want?
Cayden: This one. (The Little Red Hen)
Me: This is the one you want to read?
Cayden: Yes
Me: How many books are we going to read?
Cayden: One (said in a sad voice)

So I read The Little Red Hen. When I was all finished reading he picks up the other book (The 3 Billy Goats Gruff) and said, "oops, we read the wrong one. I meant we were supposed to read this one." He said it with such sincerity and yet his face showed he was teasing, but wondering if he was going to get away with it. Oh how I wish I could have captured that moment, just like he did it!
