Ramone/Ramona

You know me and a good deal, well I had coupons for completely free items that expired July 31st. I went around town collecting my free items and one item was for a free tropical fish. Brandon and I decide it would be fun for Cayden, so we got Cayden a betta fish that he named Ramona. I said he could name the fish whatever he wanted, however, it's a boy fish and he would call the fish "she," so we said he had to name it Ramone b/c it was a he.

He has done a good job of remembering to feed him and seems to really enjoy his fish. They say Betta fish can live a few years so I figured it would probably be awhile before I have to worry about dealing with the death of a pet. I shouldn't have been worried:

Daddy: I think if we leave Ramone on the table he'll cook and die (from the sun shining in)
Cayden: So we can eat him? For dinner?

My family had two Beta fish that lived for seriously 5 years or so. :) Good choice for a first "pet" :)

then again...kellie and i's beta fish died after only a couple of months....i think it was our water though. lol.

the "so we can eat him? for dinnner? reminds me of when i was a little tike and was watching bambi and the mom got shot and i stood up and yelled "shoot bambi too! shoot bambi too!" haha. gotta love being raised with a hunting family!! lol

Wait...why is no one asking the obvious question here???

SO?? ARE YOU IN LABOR FOR REAL???

Cody...LOL...there were reasons WHY that happened to our Beta...remember? lol That is why I CHOSE not to say anything about it. As long as they take GOOD care of the fish, it will live a long time :)

Regarding you and Bambi...if our future child EVER does that...I don't know WHAT I would do! :( lol

@ Allison :) We aren't asking that question because in her "Could it be time?" post she updated it saying that they were false contractions :)

You will just laugh and say, "yup just like his/her daddy!" :)

Haha...true true. It's just so funny because when I was a little girl, I could not watch that part of Bambi...my Mom would fast forward past that part so I didn't have to watch it because I would cry and ask WHY the hunters killed the deer! :( So the fact that I married the man who as a little boy said "shoot Bambi too! shoot Bambi too!" LOL
