Checking Email

Cayden was playing with his "learning letters laptop" and he told me he had to check his email. I asked him who he got an email from and he said, "Uncle Cody." When I asked him what the email said, he said, "I love you" and I said, "oh that's so nice" and then said, " yah, he loves me."

The letter P and a Balloon

Today Cayden made a comment about his peepee, I'd never heard him reference it before so I wondered if Brandon had. I didn't want to make an issue of it since Cayden was in the room so I just said, "Brandon you know the letter that comes after "O", that letter 2x, have you ever heard Cayden talk about that before?" Then Cayden said, "P? Is that right mom P?"

Guess I'll need to be more clever with my "codes" from now on!

We were at a car dealership and one older gentleman gave Cayden a balloon. A minute later another guy came up and said to Cayden, "hey, what are you doing with my balloon?" Cayden's whole face fell and he said, in a quiet little voice, "I was just playing with it." The guy felt so bad he was like, "oh I'm sorry buddy, I was just teasing, you can have that balloon, it's yours, you have fun playing with it" :)

Food is a Good Idea / Dumps

While I was in the process of making lunch Cayden said, "Actually, if you feed me that would be a good idea"

This morning when Brandon was changing Cayden's diaper they were having a discussion about dumps (can you guess why?) anyway this is what happened...

Brandon: Maybe I should leave you at the dump since you smell like one.
Cayden: And then I could come home?
Me: Cayden, daddy loves you too much to leave you at a dump.
Cayden: Do you daddy?
Brandon: Yes, I love you too much, but maybe we should leave mommy at the dump.
Me: Cayden, you love me too much to leave me at the dump don't you?
Cayden: No, I just love you a little.

I have a 2 year old!

My son has been an excellent 2 year old, he's a super good kid that is really pretty obedient, until today. I had company and he was in the kitchen while we were in the living room-not far away and yet he managed to find a screw and stick it in the bottom of an electrical socket, find the hair cutting scissors and cut his hair and about 20 other things he knew not to do. I really hope it was only because he was up at 6:00am and that this isn't the start of something terrible!

I'll Love You Forever...

Cayden and I were supposed to be napping yesterday and he sat up on his knees and he put his hands on my back and started rocking me back and forth and sang, "I'll rock you back and forth, back and forth and I'll love you forever, I'll like for always, as long as I'm living my mommy you'll be"

Choices

We've been giving Cayden choices when he doesn't want to do something.

This morning he asked to crawl in bed with us, after a little while he said, "mommy can I either go play or get a spanking?" I said, "sure you can have a spanking" (just teasing him) and he said, "no, not that choice, go play" (I did let him go play)

Now tonight he's suppsed to be sleeping and I told him he had the choice to go to sleep or get a spanking. A few minutes later he yells out, "going to sleep isn't a good choice mommy."

1...2...

We've started counting if Cayden doesn't obey us right away. In the beginning he would come as soon as we started, but then he started to realize he had until 3 and would wait until we were saying 2. (So we told him he needs to obey right away and we might start spanking on 2 if he's not obeying.) Well tonight he wasn't going to sleep and Brandon said, "do you want me to count to 3?" and Cayden said, "only 1 and 2, not 3"

One other thing: my parents gave him a wallet with $1 in it and he wanted to put the money in his "money bank" so we did. Then he wanted more money for his "waffle" so I told him he'd have to ask grandma-that was Saturday. Today my mom called and his first words were, "I need more money for my wallet" hmmm I'm thinking he might be on to something:)
