We are trying to teach him to kiss a girl's hand, but to only shake a boy's hand. Sometimes he kisses the boy's hand and shakes the girl's hand:) He's only 17 months, he's got time to learn, right?

My Cousin Tanya
Let me tell you a little about my cousin Tanya...She is the craziest cousin I have! When we were little we made a dance to Achy Breaky Heart and she would be happy to perform it for you if you ever see her and ask:) Right Tanya :) (just remember you asked me to post about you:) )
Actually, you can just go over to her blog http://tanyabyer.blogspot.com/ and she'll tell you all about her and her family. Now I'm sure some of you are thinking, "why do I want to learn about Lyndi's Cousin Tanya?" Good question, because if you learn about Tanya you could win a $10 gift card!! Go to http://tanyabyer.blogspot.com/ for more details:)
Her son has autism and she is looking for ways to help raise money for a Walk for Autism she is having, her website explains more and if you give her ideas on how to raise money you get entered to win a $10 giftcard. More deatils at the link below: http://www.walknowforautism.org/siteapps/teampage/ShowPage.aspx?c=nsKVL3PLLtF&b=3643247&teamid=2772491
Have a great day!

Still Potty Training
Cayden had his 15 month check-up and the doctor told me not to expect the potty training to last. A friend of mine also said her son was interested for awhile and then gave up, so maybe this is just a phase, but for now-he continues to impress me. He woke up dry from his afternoon nap, went potty right away on his chair and then pointed to the flusher. He knows to point at the flusher when he's done, so it's not all chance that this is happening. He is aware. It will be interesting to see how this progresses.
Note: However, as I wrote this he pooped in his diaper:) He was knocking on the door to the bathroom, but I thought he just wanted more treat, maybe he did or maybe he was wanting to go-I wish he could talk sometimes:)

When Was The Last Time You Learned Something New?
I am amazed at how Cayden continues to learn and grow! One day he rides his 4-wheeler into the deck, gets stuck and sits there waiting for me to help. The next day, he gets off his 4-wheeler walks to the back of it, pulls the 4-wheeler away from the deck, gets back on and drives away. I stood there amazed at how quickly he progresses, never staying the same for long. And it got me thinking, when was the last time I learned something new. How often do I go before learning something? Are we meant to slow down in our learning curve or do we just slow down out of laziness?

Potty Training Continued
Well, I'm a skeptic, a big skeptic, that a 15 month old BOY can be potty trained, but...
my son, might just be softening this skeptic, here's why:
1.) Last night he went poopy again for Brandon after dinner
2.) This morning he went poopy again for Grandma after breakfast
3.)This afternoon, during lunch, he pointed toward the direction of the bathroom and I thought for a second that maybe he was pointing to the bathroom b/c he had to go, but then I thought, "oh, no-he's pointing at the banana," so I gave him more banana and a few minutes later, smelled that I was probably wrong on where he pointed:) So I got him changed and put back in his highchair
4.)Then a little while later (lunches are long!) he started crying and I had no idea why. I picked him up from his highchair and he pointed to the bathroom and I said, "what do you want, show mommy" and he pointed and said potty. So I put him on the potty chair and then a minute or two later he pointed to the "flusher" on the big potty so I picked him up to see if he went and sure enough there was pee in his potty. So I praised him big time, dumped it in the big potty, let him flush it and gave him some more chocolate.
I'm still skeptical that this will continue, but he does learn quickly and LOVES it when we praise him, so who knows!

I'll Spare you the Picture:)
A couple of weeks ago, my mother-in-law and I went out of town, on our way back I thought Cayden had pooped his pants, but we weren't sure. A little while later Cayden was trying to get our attention, when we looked back-he had pulled his diaper out of the diaper bag and was waving it at us. Many women have said that means he's ready to be potty trained. He's only 15 months old, so I'm not setting my heart on it, but I thought I guess it can't hurt to try.
After breakfast today I set him on the potty (that's his regular time:) ) and he went poop and pee! I praised him up and down, we tossed it in the big potty, he got to flush and we waved bye bye to it as it left:) Then he had a piece of a cherry hershey's kiss (it's what I had around:) ). So I doubt it will continue, but at least he's aware of what he's supposed to do on the potty chair. If you don't hear anything more about this-it's b/c we aren't successful:) Or I'm just slacking on the blogging again:)
